A pro quality tonbak should have at least three characteristics:
1) It should have a good wooden body with a good skin.
2) The sound should be great.
3) It should be beautiful.
Don't forget to buy sharp sounded tonbak if you live in an area that weather is humid there! Today tunable tonbaks are
also available in bazaar, but some prefer not to play on them!
In the past good quality tonbaks were made in Shiraz. In Isfahan, Kurdistan and Lorestan good quality tonbak could
be found too. Today Tehran is the best city to find good quality tonbaks. There are some mass-makers offer low-price tonbak
with reasonable quality, but one should be very careful to choose the best available tonbaks.
